friday night...
Hi everyone!
I’m sure lots of you have heard about the recent changes happening at You Lucky Dog! I just wanted to take a moment and fill everyone in and catch those that don’t know up.
As of this past Tuesday (Aug 23rd) You Lucky Dog! has changed ownership. A bittersweet moment for everyone, I’m sure, as we have all worked so closely and for so many years together. Jim and I started working at YLD in October of 2005, just a little over year into Wendy and Meg starting the business. We all worked hard to create and maintain this environment for our dogs and yours. Mindy came on board almost 3 years ago and quickly went from part time office help to a pack leader and then to Nash Academy to study dog grooming. Along the way we have learned so much, grew and evolved the business together into what it is today.
We are thankful and grateful to Wendy and Meg for their vision and the opportunity to work for and with them over the years. We wish them the best of luck and love as they set out on their next adventures and new beginnings.
In October of 2007 a golden-doodle named Phoebe joined our pack and a few months later her brother Bo. Ill never forget a conversation their owner Sandy and I had a short time later. It seems Bo had a few “issues” in public and they needed help. I’m happy to say Bo has come a long way and so has our relationship with Sandy. As a long time client she understands exactly what makes YLD unique. She appreciates how “picky” we are about which dogs are allowed to visit with us. She understands there’s much more to running and operating this business than meets the eye…the never ending cleaning, the fine art of balancing and managing our furry friends as they play and grow up together and the countless behind the scene tasks that make up You Lucky Dog.
Sandy’s true love for dogs, our long standing working relationship and the friendships formed between she, Mindy, Jim and I over the years have lead to a wonderful partnership. She brings to the table all the things that will allow and help us not only grow and step up to the next level but to continue to offer the care and service that is the foundation of YLD. We are truly blessed to have Sandy as a key member of YLD’s successful future.
Over the next few months there will be some great changes such as a state of the art security and fire watch system, longer weekend hours, fresh paint and many other building upgrades. We are very excited to be training some awesome new staff members! Each of them brings something special and valuable to You Lucky Dog, most importantly their love for dogs and their well-being while in our care.
Thank you all for choosing You Lucky Dog! and allowing us to do what it is that we love the most. We appreciate all the support you offer us!
I’m off to finish working on our staff’s new “Overnight Room”. I have a futon to build and a pack of dogs to take out to potty before bed :)
