Good evening all! I hope today's blog finds you well in all ways. Wasn't today just gorgeous? One of those beautiful days the staff savor as we head into the colder weather season. I read that the forecast was for a HUGE change by tomorrow morning so I'm sure the photos will be drastically different on the morrow.
We had a lovely time playing today. There was a great mix of large, medium and small dogs. They all seemed to have fun! Also on the plus side, the camera was working well. I did wait until the afternoon play session to take photos. There were still some fuzzy ones. I'm not sure if that's a hardware or operator issue. I believe the camera believes I've taken almost 9,000 photos in just over one year. Maybe the camera is tired (or maybe I am). I'll just keep trying to get the best photos possible.
Enjoy. There are some very cute photos!
Peace,
Wendy

Leaves, a dog's best friend or worst enemy depending on their immunity levels. Here's Peyton chewing on a leaf. Many of our canine companions have seasonal allergies so watch your canines carefully!
Emma sent Zander to "school" so she could have a day off. She's on fall break from school and he keeps waking her at 5:30 AM. What high schooler wants to be up that early if it's not necessary? I'm hopeful Emma and Violet took a long afternoon nap!
Maggie A. wondering why I called her name but she responded and came to me. Great job Mom & Dad - we love good recall!
Teddy posing for his photo. He couldn't decide which was his best side and which showed his red sweater to the best advantage. You choose!
I'm sure you've noticed Chestnut and Coconut's photos on the blog the last few days. Yup, their mom had her baby. They went home today to a new addition - a baby girl - named Katlyn Michele. Congratulations to all the family members! Below is a small grouping of "Nut" photos!
When Mike first started at YLD (four years ago this week!) he didn't prefer the small dogs. Now, he loves them and they love him. Coconut asking for Mike's attention with Chestnut and Lucy topknot wait in the wings for their share!
Lucy topknot trying to get Chestnut to play while Stanley makes sure they are both dogs - at least he THINKS they smell like dogs.

Together - "The Nuts"
We're glad to welcome back Lucy bloodhound. You might remember that Lucy has a sister, Bella. Well, Bella ate some rocks and had to visit the vet. The parental units didn't want Lucy to languish so they brought her to her friends at daycare. Bella is doing well passing the rocks!!!!

Coconut, Chestnut and Bo doodle. They all look kind of doodly to me - maybe the little ones are fake doodles!
Today's crazies canine move caught on "film." Miles submitting do Darwin by giving him "kisses" but just look at that tongue! Miles is a kissing machine and I'll admit all the humans have been caught with their mouths open when Miles sneaks a kiss! Yuck!
And finally, today's movie selection is brought to the fans by Jack D. Jack decided to set THE BEST example of the YLD special - hot stone massage! He knows that copying is the sincerest form of flattery! (Jack was the first to roll around like this. I'm glad I caught him on "tape.")
...On a more serious note, Jack is lying out in the middle of the play yard where anyone could come up to him. He has to feel very safe to be able to relax enough to roll around and not be worried someone will bother him. On the video you can see two dogs walk by but leave him to his rolling. This shows how comfortable the dogs are at YLD! Thanks for the visible endorsement, Jack! Not all places have this level of comfort for the dogs. Just something to think about.
