Weekly Wrap Up!

Happy Friday everyone!

We want to start off by thanking everyone for all the support, encouragement, ideas and excitement over the last few weeks. You are once again referring us to friends, neighbors and co-workers and we couldn't be more grateful. Its been a long time since our evaluation schedule was full! We also what to thank former dogs and parents for finding their way back to us...we've missed you. Walking into Monday's pack to see Benson was quite a thrill and surprise!

Bishop, Blaze, Ellie and Dixie...Welcome to the pack! You all did a great job this week with introductions and we are very happy to have you join us! We're looking forward to getting to know you and your parents better over the next few weeks.

ADT has been working the last couple of days on our security and fire watch system install. They have estimated 100 hours until the job is complete! Not only is it a large building but we made sure we had all bases covered. Photo sensitive fire and smoke detectors? We'll have them all over very soon...

On with the show...

Sherman hanging with Chuck and the boys.
Ellie Labradoodle taking it all in on her first day.
Bishop and Miles became quick friends
Tug and Lola...what a pair!
Fall is coming on quickly! Who wants to rake leaves?
Team Yellow.
Buckshot telling jokes to a captive audience

Have a great weekend everyone!

The Usual Suspects...

Hi again! This Sunday we had a lot of the same boarding dogs from last week. They have settled into a nice routine together, and once again were a bunch of hams for the camera:)

Rocky
Piper, but he is known as Pipper at daycare!
Piper's best pal Kasey
Rocky's big sister Kellsie
Willie, the Cat Carrier Terrier
Little Apollo
Mickey and Sherman
Silly Goose Rocky again!
Right after nap Lucy, Champ and Willie had a hysterical session of rolling and doing the squirmy wormy dance in the playroom. It went on and on!
Champ, one of our best smilers
Apollo taking a bow! Apollo said "Hi Dad!!! See you tomorrow!!!"

Responsible Dog Ownership Day!

Hello! It's Mindy, the official You Lucky Roving Reporter here! This post is brought to you by Sprocket:

This weekend pack member Sprocket, a Berger Picard, took part in a Meet The Breeds event which was part of the Responsible Dog Ownership Day at the NC State Fairgrounds. I stopped by to snap some photos and meet the breeds!

Here is Sprocket with some other Berger Picards:

Chinese Crested
English Cocker
I fell completely in love with these two! The Lagotto, a truffle hunting dog!
There were four or five of these guys, soooo sweet and friendly! I could have pet them all day! The name of the breed is Cirneco dell'Etna!
Cavalier PUPPIES!
I was so so so thrilled to see this girl! I am a HUGE fan of all things terrier, and she is rare! I had seen them at grooming competitions, but never got to give them noogies before!!! She is a Dandie Dinmont Terrier. They are known for their ear tassles and big brown eyes! I really enjoyed chatting with this sweet girl's Mom, who was a sweetheart herself!

It was a fun day, and I had the added bonus of running into pack member Gus, a GSD, walking around the flea market with his Mom, sister and two terrier siblings...he was being a very good boy!

Thanks for reading, and thanks to our favorite rock star Berger Picard Sprocket and his Mom Leila!

xoxo, Mindy

It's Friday!

Happy Friday everyone!

Before you all set off into the weekend we wanted to catch you up on a few things...

First off, Welcome back to some pups we haven't seen in a while! Gus and Sasha, we are all so happy you're both feeling better and ready to come play again! Lucy Bloodhound fit right back into the pack like she never left. I think she has a crush on Sprocket :) It's great to have you all back with us

We are so happy to be meeting some of the former Pet Resort clients and their awesome dogs. Kingston did a great job with his introductions on Thursday. He was lots of fun to work with and we look forward to seeing him again tomorrow. We are also looking forward to meeting Bishop next Monday. Remember, we are offering 50% off of our evaluation fee to help them settle into a new home away from home.

The security and fire alarm system permits arrive Monday and tentative install dates are in place starting next Wednesday! Moving along nicely...we're very excited for this upgrade and peace of mind it brings.

Mike at MewStar Designs in Wake Forest is working hard on our new website, brochures, business cards and more. We saw a preview of the site this week, and its awesome! I'll leave you with a bit of a tease...our new logo...

Sunday Hours Change

Hi Everyone,
We hope you're all having a great week so far! One of the many changes we have been excited about at YLD! is drop off/pick up times on Sundays. We have given this a lot of thought and tried to make things as convenient as possible for everyone.

Our Sunday office hours will be:
9am-10am
3pm-5pm

As always, we appreciate and look forward to feedback. Have an awesome afternoon!

a helping paw to Pet Resort visitors

We understand how hard it is to find a daycare and boarding facility that you can trust and know your dog is safe visiting. We'd like to offer our services and help to the dogs and parents needing a new home due to the unfortunate closing of the Pet Resort. We would like to extend a 50% discount off of our evaluation price for those families.

Please call us (788-8388) for more information or to set up a trial day. We also welcome you to visit our facility at 8604 Jersey Court Raleigh, NC 27617 for a tour. Tours are available during our normal business hours, except at nap time 11:30am-1:30pm.

We hope we can be of assistance in offering your pup a new, safe and happy place to spend their time away from home.

Sunday Silliness

Hi Everyone! Each day of the week here at You Lucky Dog has a different feeling, partly because we have "regulars" who come on specific days, and partly because we have a different collection of staff members each day. Monday would just not be Monday without Mickey the Golden, and Friday would never feel like Friday without the Newfies and Moose. I never know what to expect when I come in for the after-nap shift on Sundays because we never have the same group twice. Sometimes we have mostly mellow dogs and others we have a bunch of party animals. Today I was blessed with a pack of comedians!

Beagle Scout charged up to the fence to hunt for critters as soon as we got outside, and was joined by Joe Cocker, Willie, and Champ:

After the hunt they posed and made funny faces for the camera:

Followed by a yoga session:

"Downward-facing Dog" demonstrated by Joe Cocker
"Upward-facing Dog" by Lucy Topknot
"Hot Dog" by Champ

And finally, Lucy did a "Sunny Side Up" demonstration for Champ and Mateo:

Mateo's turn:
The last picture is of Beagle Scout, who came to tell me it was dinner time after FOUR HOURS of uninterrupted sniffing and hunting at the fence! She certainly comes by her name honestly...she is one heck of a scout!

I am already looking forward to next Sunday! xoxo, Mindy
